A sweet antique 9ct Yellow Gold back and front heart locket from the Victorian era featuring beautiful engraved patterning on both sides.

The front depicts a beautiful bouquet of Forget me nots wrapped in Ivy leaves which represent a loving eternal attachment and add to the romance of the piece.

Forget me nots in an old German tale were discovered by two lovers walking by a river one day. After picking a beautiful bouquet of blue flowers for his loved one the poor gentleman sadly fell in the river and was swept away but before he vanished he yelled out ‘Forget-me-not!’ giving the flowers their name and a long lasting symbolism of love and remembrance.

The locket opens up to reveal a display of dried flowers behind one of the windows. These have been beautifully preserved and put there by a previous owner. They can be removed if preferred, so you can add your own flowers or photographs within.

The piece is steeped in Romantic sentiment and would make a wonderful gift for a loved one.
